Project Profile

Responsible Officer: Commissioner Transport Services and Infrastructure.

Objective: Improve inland water transport system by improving infrastructures at various economically viable landing sites.

Outputs: Improved inland water transport system.



Planned Outputs and Activities for the Financial Year 2010/11:

1. Socio-economic studies on Lakes Victoria, Albert, Kyoga and River Nile conducted.
2. Staff trained in water transport development.
3. Management contract for MV Kalangala ship reviewed..
4. MV Kalangala ship surveyed and insured.
